Honoured with Invisalign’s Prestigious Lifetime Achievement Award at the APAC Summit 2025
This year, I had the incredible privilege of representing New Zealand on the global stage at the Invisalign APAC Summit in Bangkok, where I was honoured with the Lifetime Achievement Award.
Standing alongside world-renowned orthodontic specialists, I had the opportunity to learn from the very best in the field—gaining fresh insights, exploring cutting-edge innovations, and deepening my commitment to excellence in clear aligner therapy.
I’m excited to bring the latest Invisalign technologies and global best practices back home, so our patients in New Zealand can continue to receive the highest standard of orthodontic care—with faster, more comfortable, and more precise treatment than ever before.

The Real Reason Behind Bad Breath
Bad breath is one of those topics patients rarely bring up, even though almost everyone experiences it at some point. The good news is that in most cases, the cause is relatively easy to address.
Most persistent bad breath comes from bacteria living on the tongue, between teeth, or below the gumline, not from what you ate for lunch. These bacteria produce odor as they break down food particles and other debris left behind after brushing.
Because the mouth is home to millions of bacteria, keeping their balance in check, through brushing, flossing, and tongue cleaning, makes the biggest difference. Persistent bad breath can also be a sign that something else needs attention, which is why it’s important to mention at your dental checkup.
You never need to feel embarrassed bringing this up with us. It’s one of the easiest things we can help you solve.

When Life Gets in the Way of Brushing
Nearly a third of adults don’t brush their teeth twice a day, even though most people know they should. Knowing what’s best for yourself is one thing but actually doing it when life gets in the way is a different story.
Maybe it’s falling asleep on the couch in the evening before making it to the bathroom, or rushing kids out the door and forgetting yourself in the process. These small, everyday moments add up over time.
Having a backup plan helps. Keeping a spare toothbrush and toothpaste in your car, bag, or desk means a chaotic morning doesn’t have to mean missed brushing. You might also try putting your toothbrush in the kitchen where you’ll see it. Though unconventional, these little shifts can also make the habit easier to catch.
If your routine slips sometimes, you’re far from alone. Small backup habits, not perfection, are what keep your smile protected when life doesn’t go as planned.

X-rays are routine, but what they reveal goes far beyond spotting a cavity. Different types of X-rays are built to show different parts of your mouth.
